IF they include ryan in this trade i will be livid.

The amount of people ive seen (not here), trying to defend such a measure is crazy.

Sources indicate big piece of Karlsson’s frustration stems from the financial fallout from Alfredsson I, Alfredsson II, and Turris.

They have severely discounted impact of damaged relationships there.

Doesn't matter is Ryan is included in a Karlsson deal or not. If you lose Karlsson, you lose the trade. An extra late 1st or prospect isn't going to change that. The team that gets the best player, generally wins the deal.

Gotta wonder what Stone and Duchene are thinking of all of this crap.

you guys have the worst owner/CEO in the league. If Karlsson does get traded, and salary is the focus of Melnyk, you guys should boycott CT center

It absolutely matters.

1. Negating the return will matter, rather weird to argue it wont. Getting the most back possible is essential.

2. Making a move for 100% salary reasons would be another stain on the franchise and demonstrate what a gong show operation this is.

If Karlsson gets traded with Ryan for such blatant cost-cutting, I will be out there with torch and pitchfork.

this is exactly what you guys need to do. Karlsson is a top 5 player in the world. If cost cutting is what Melnyk is doing, you guys need to completely void him of ticket sales to show your frustration.

Are the Hoffman rumours true?? I think he would bring a huge haul but if I was a Sens ticket holder this would be my last year if Hoff and Karlsson are both moved. Hoffman is my fav and most exciting forward. Can't wait till the deadline is over.

Like I don't disagree. But adding Ryan to a deal would take away what, like a late first in 2020 and a middling prospect?

There's still negotiation. We just might not get for example a late 1st (Puemple) and middling prospect like Chaisoon. Again, just an example. Could very well go the other way too.

Like I think it is dumb too. But if you are going to sell off, moving Ryan is a must too. Honestly, can't see a contending team that can take both tho. It's strange it's being talked about so much.

The fact that we are talking about trading Karlsson is sad. Adding Ryan to a deal to lessen the return for money reasons honestly doesn't affect me the same way. More of a who gives a crap at this point.

The franchise is a joke.

The fact the you have to give up this year or next years 1st is brutal. Especially when you're gutting the roster for a rebuild. You think they move Duchene too? He can walk after next year correct?

Why is moving Ryan a must if they're selling off? Hid bad contract is immediately a non issue if they're rebuilding. Or it should be, on a normal franchise.

As you said, on top of losing out on some assets (i would argue that losing firsts and middleing prospects matters, not every first is a peumpel), it limits the teams that can take Karlsson in the first place.

Exactly, having to trade your franchise player and best part of your team for cost-cutting is sad. It’s hard to stomach the owner making trades.

I guess I just don't see it happening, so I don't find it as frustrating or outlandish, I guess. The lack of suitors just doesn't make it seem feasible.

As you said, Ryan on a selling off team is a non issue on a normal franchise, unfortunately this is not one.

I honestly don't care. The fact that Karlsson is likely gone by Monday or the summer is going to be a black on on this franchise for decades. It's super tiring to see stars run out of this town.

I have tried to stick up for this team as simply a hockey fan, but if Karlsson is moved, this is just a circus.

Without a new owner, they won't be able to recover and rebuild properly. At least when Boston traded Thorton in his prime there was a plan and money invested in other players and they were successful. I can't see the same thing happening under Eugene if he continues to make money moves rather than hockey moves.

I wonder if the NHL can force EM to sell? I mean if he is selling they can force him to keep it in Ottawa, why not just say, you've lost the fans, sell in Ottawa and move on.

Hearing @NHL has rejected the Brassard trade unless @penguins @Senators @GoldenKnights can restructure the trade to leagues satisfaction.

Wow, that doesnt happen often

He has to bring in a third team to do it, what a joke he is

Not even close

Ryan's contract is beyond bad. It would take a special deal to get rid of him.
